“Fall in love with me,” Share stated. Her gaze wandered from the ceiling to his face. Dart stared at her with surprised eyes, silent. The only sound made was the faint noise of their breathing, occasionally meshing together for an instant as one inhale, one exhale. Share’s hand begged for his touch, but she didn’t dare reach for it. It was much too desperate. Dart looked further into her eyes, trying to find some sort of hidden meaning behind the words she just said, but her eyes just shone as they always had, bright, bewildered, and honest.
“Why?” He asked.
Her once calm eyes began to brew a storm. They grew dark at the recollection of events that had led up to this moment, this almost confession. They welled up with tears, and her voice started to shake, “It’s hard being a Walker, Dart. I would rather suffer in good company than alone like everyone else.”
